what we do
At LPS middle schools we offer after-school empowerment clubs for all genders and all grades! We strongly believe that all are affected be gender issues and youth empowerment.
OUR Programs
These programs, run by extensively trained LPS high school students, are created to ensure that students understand that they are truly capable individuals who possess the power to make a change in our world. Along with learning how to combat girl-to-girl bullying and deal with gender-based discrimination, members also learn about issues girls face in developing countries.
Not only has our curriculum been carefully developed, but the leaders of our programs are also experienced. Our program leaders are passionate and enthusiastic high school students who are background checked and trained to lead safely, responsibly, and effectively
why middle schoolers?
The Middle School years are a time of change, and studies indicate that self-confidence dips the lowest during these early teenage years. Much of this is due to the false media representation of gender stereotypes. We are confident that through empowering teaching middle schoolers about what they are truly capable of, we can help lessen the effects of this issue.
